We are based right here. Village Trimlight operates out of Summerfield, minutes from The Villages, and this is where we do most of our work. We are not a Tampa or Orlando company that drives up when it suits them.

Trimlight is permanent, programmable LED lighting that lives in a slim aluminum channel tucked under your soffit. It goes on once. After that your home can be warm white on an ordinary evening, red and green through December, orange for Halloween, or your team's colors on a Saturday — all from your phone, and without anyone touching a ladder again.

Why it suits The Villages in particular

We install all over the area, but there are a few things about living here that make permanent lighting land differently than it would somewhere else.

The ladder problem

Nobody should be on a roofline in December

This is the reason most of our customers call. Hanging lights each year means either climbing up yourself, asking a family member to, or paying someone every single season. Permanent lighting removes the question entirely — it is installed once, by us, and then it simply lives there.

Golf cart season

People here actually drive around to look

Come December, touring the holiday lights by cart is one of the genuine pleasures of living in The Villages. A programmed roofline reads beautifully from a cart path at ten miles an hour — far better than a strand of lights does, and it is running every night of the season rather than the weekend somebody got around to it.

The space you actually sit in

Almost every home here has a screen enclosure, and it is where people spend their evenings. We light lanais and pool cages using the tighter 6 inch spacing, which looks right at close range. It is the single most requested thing we do that has nothing to do with the holidays.

Going north for the summer

Your house does not sit dark for five months

If you head up north when it gets hot, you can run the lights on a schedule or change them from wherever you are, as long as you have phone service. A house that lights itself in the evening looks lived in. That matters more than most people think.

Invisible when it is off

The channel is aluminum, and we match its color to your existing soffit and fascia — often exactly. The lights and every wire sit inside it. In daylight, from the street, most people never notice it is there at all.

One system, every occasion

Not just a Christmas purchase

Christmas is what gets people looking, but the system earns its keep the rest of the year: Halloween, the 4th of July, Valentine's, a grandchild's birthday, game day, and warm white on all the ordinary nights in between.

What actually gets installed

A slim aluminum channel is mounted beneath the soffit, holding LED pixels at 6, 9 or 12 inch spacing. Nine inch is the usual choice for a front elevation; six inch is better on a lanai or pool cage where you are viewing it up close. Your gutters and drip edge are left alone entirely — they do an important job moving water off your roof and nothing about our installation should interfere with that.

The LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours, which for evening use works out to something like twenty to thirty years. They draw about 0.6 watts each, so a whole home runs on less power than a couple of ordinary light bulbs. The controller mounts on an interior garage wall and plugs into a standard outlet. There is no annual maintenance, nothing to take down, and nothing to store.

One thing we will say plainly. Lighting should make your home look its best without becoming your neighbor's problem. We aim light at your house, we set sensible everyday defaults and a schedule before we leave, and if a job would put glare into somebody else's windows we will tell you so and suggest another way to do it. We have turned down work over this. It is a small community and we would rather keep it a pleasant one.
